5 Small Ways To Start Working Out Post-Pregnancy
Children are a blessing in more ways than one can count, but having them means the fear of your body changing in a negative way. Heather Prescott, PT and nutrition specialist at heatherprescottfitness.com shares her tips for getting back in shape without sacrificing your baby’s health
1. Eat your fats
Go for avocados, nuts, dark choc, eggs, wild-caught salmon, chia/flax seed and fresh/dried coconut.
2. Hydrate
This flushes out toxins while also maintaining a healthy weight and keeping your milk supply straight.
3. Move when possible
Start with chores, then walk around the block. When medically cleared, move to light weights.
4. Don’t skip meals
Going without consistent, healthy meals means you will drop too much weight too fast.
5. Breast is best
Breastfeed or pump if you can. It gives your body the extra push to return to your original physique.
