Sasha Banks On How She Stays Fit On The Go
We find out how the woman known to millions as “The Boss” stays fit on the move.
Body
Before WWE, I never lifted weights. I just wanted to do cardio because I thought that would make me lean, but I have noticed since I started lifting I’m leaner, fitter, and more confident in my body than ever before. WWE trainers have shown me a variety of exercises, and since I’ve added extra muscle, I’ve had less back pain. It’s not true lifting makes girls bulky quickly. It takes a lot of work to make any type of big change.
Mind
Hotel gyms are often limited, so I have to look for a functional one in every town I visit. Once there, I like to put on my headphones and hit the treadmill, or mix things up with a CrossFit session to keep my body guessing and my mind motivated. On the road, I take a notebook with me everywhere I go because it’s a great way to remember all the places I get to travel to. I write in it every day and record the matches I have had, my opponent, or just random thoughts. It will make a great book one day.
Soul
Everything I do is about being the best WWE superstar I can be. I don’t have any other special talents. Being a pro wrestler is all I wanted to do, so I’m always focused on being The Boss. My ultimate goal is to be remembered as the greatest of all time.
Food
I have a cheesecake problem, but I’m focusing on my abs now. They say abs are made in the kitchen, so I’m concentrating on eating clean. I allow myself an occasional cheat meal to help with motivation and maintain balance.
A lot of wrestlers prepare meals and carry them on the road, controlling their macro intake. I don’t like traveling with extra weight, especially through airports, so whenever I arrive in a new town, I go to the grocery store and buy chicken or turkey, fruit, and green veg. Buffalo is my favorite source of protein.
