Researchers suggest yoga releases muscle tension while toning them, meaning you’ll be able to tighten up while decreasing stress related pain thanks to its relaxation techniques.

 

2. Improve your mood

Yoga stimulates specific brain areas which raise the level of the mood inducing chemical serotonin, while decreasing your levels of monoamine oxidase (an enzyme that breaks down neurotransmitters).

 

3. Reduce stress

Yogic meditation for 12 minutes per day for two months activates a reduction in biological mechanisms that cause stress.

 

4. Improve your sexual health

Breathing exercises and mutually beneficial postures can help couples relax, build trust and have fun in all the right ways.

 

5. Lower your blood pressure

Researchers found that after three months of regular sessions, yoga practitioners’ systolic blood pressure (the top number) dropped on average by 26 points, while diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number) dropped by 15 points.
